What Is An Emergency?
Dogs & Cats
- Hit by car, even if your pet appears normal.
- Uncontrollable bleeding.
- Ingestion of anti freeze, rat poison, pesticides, etc.
- Sudden enlarged or bloated abdomen.
- Sudden collapse.
- Difficulty breathing.
- Non-responsive.
- Sudden, frequent vomiting.
- Retching (gagging, inability to vomit).
- Ingestion of human and/or non-prescribed medication.
- Over-heated.
- Sudden loss of appetite.
- Straining to urinate without producing any urine.
- Cold to the touch.
- Prolonged and/or multiple seizures.
- If dog or cat is in labor weakly straining for more than 3 hours or hard straining for 30 minutes without delivering a puppy or a kitten.
- Inability to use back legs.
Cats Only
- Crying out in litter box without producing any urine.
